Transparent - enhance development

I believed many student are curious, why USM spend a lot of money on infrastructure such as building painting, building 'pondok' anywhere, organising plenty of events, DTSP renovation, padang kawad renovation and so on. The question is why USM spend so much money on such things? Why don't USM spend more money on student welfare, maintanence of facilities etc... The answer is because there are allocation on APEX fund for such renovation.

Let's talk about last year intake of new student, USM had exceeded the allocation fund of RM800k to RM1.4million. Why such thing happen? Is it because of poor management of USM? Student want to know what going on? "Transparent"... Perhaps no one take advantage on that fund.

Let's talk on another issue, why BHEPP gave a lot of troubles to student when student want to organized events? There are many stages we need to go through when organize an event, every single thing the student do need to refer to BHEPP even though it's a good event where can beneficial student. Yes, i do agree student need to refer to BHEPP when organising event but not let the event control by BHEPP staff. BHEPP is just a student affair department, they are not control over the whole USM. Reducing the birocracy in USM will enhance the uviversity development.

Tips for CV

Tips to ensure your CV stands out from the rest.

1. Make sure your CV is no longer than 2 pages. Longer CVs are usually the first to be rejected by many employers - don't waffle! If your CV has to be longer, try and get all the main information on the first page!

2. Keep it simple! Employers will generally be uninterested in naff school records like the egg and spoon race record time! Make sure you're concise and straight to the point!

3. Structure it! Write your CV in a logical order. Here's a possible layout:
Name
Contact details
Personal details
Education
Employment history (in reverse chronological order, most recent job first, give the location, responsibilities and achievements for positions)
Hobbies and Interests

4. Finally:
Your CV should leave your employer wanting to know more - tease them.
Keep your CV up to date.
Keep your CV on a CD Rom or floppy disk
Write your CV using a standard word processor package, Microsoft Word is the most common.

Don't use 100's of silly fonts. Stick to one font, preferably arial or times new roman, and make sure you stick with it!

Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, or in Chinese, Zhongqiu Jie (traditional Chinese: 中秋節), is a popular harvest festival celebrated by Chinese people, Koreans, and Vietnamese people (even though they celebrate it differently), dating back over 3,000 years to moon worship in China's Shang Dynasty.[1][2] It was first called Zhongqiu Jie (literally "Mid-Autumn Festival") in the Zhou Dynasty.[3] In Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, it is also sometimes referred to as the Lantern Festival or Mooncake Festival.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, which is usually around late September or early October in the Gregorian calendar. It is a date that parallels the autumn and spring Equinoxes of the solar calendar, when the moon is supposedly at its fullest and roundest. The traditional food of this festival is the mooncake, of which there are many different varieties.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the few most important holidays in the Chinese calendar, the others being Chinese New Year and Winter Solstice, and is a legal holiday in several countries. Farmers celebrate the end of the summer harvesting season on this date. Traditionally, on this day, Chinese family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, and eat moon cakes and pomelos together. Accompanying the celebration, there are additional cultural or regional customs, such as:

•Eating moon cakes outside under the moon
•Putting pomelo rinds on one's head
•Carrying brightly lit lanterns, lighting lanterns on towers, floating sky lanterns
•Burning incense in reverence to deities including Chang'e (simplified Chinese: 嫦娥; traditional Chinese; 嫦娥; pinyin: cháng'é)
•Planting Mid-Autumn trees
•Collecting dandelion leaves and distributing them evenly among family members
•Fire Dragon Dances

Shops selling mooncakes, before the festival, often display pictures of Chang'e floating to the moon.
